I really like the blue mat, but the comments that say that it isn't as tough as the green one scare me.
Chicken!I really like the blue mat, but the comments that say that it isn't as tough as the green one scare me.
There are some things a man SHALL not do...Any takers?

It doesn't matter how many colors the mat can be made of. The true one (for scale modeling) should be Green!!! I learned the hard way!!Any takers?

Yeah.. I have a thing for 17th century fancy ships.I like your Member Category, Man-of-war Junkie. That is all I build.
Lucky my first mat was a green one, and when I die I will be buried under a green one.It doesn't matter how many colors the mat can be made of. The true one (for scale modeling) should be Green!!! I learned the hard way!!

why are you so sure you will die in the summer?Lucky my first mat was a green one, and when I die I will be buried under a green one.
Here in the Netherlands the grass is always green. Only the neighbor got grass that is more green. And some people here smoke grass for fun. We got it all here.why are you so sure you will die in the summer?
I think Murphy was colourblind.Murphy's "Rules of Engineering" state that "All measurements and dimensions shall be given in the MOST obscure terms possible. as in: 'Furlongs per Fortnight..."
(Color of cutting mat notwithstanding.)

...some time back, I also thought that modeling cutting mat was just a trivial matter, until the most recent discussion and all the success stories accompanying the use of a Green mat. This is what I really like about the SoS forum, we can all discuss the minute details of a specific ship in fine details, or just have a blast on trivial matters such as color of cutting mat, (except not trivial to Jimsky) and all enjoy our selves.
The 'Mat' guru, said they should be white for the most success, with other colors you may not achieve the same cutting results, but... if you have already done some research, you may have already noticed: there are no other colors, for stripes, other than white, on the Green mats out there. So we have settled that green mats are better, but what about the color of lines on the green mat?
Do they need to be white, red, yellow black or what color for best modeling building skills.
