USS Constitution 1:70 Scratch

#Mr. Deep is the SOS ID for a Russian gentleman doing a scratch built late 19thc. Russian frigate of substantial size and complexity, as is your Constitution.
His build log and perseverance remind me of you, as does the high quality of his work. Well worth a look!

All the best in the new Year. I look forward to your progress!

Pete

Painting of the upper hull is finished. First, I painted the area between the gunports white, then I applied masking tape to cover the white. I reapplied white paint over the masking tape to prevent the black paint from leaking into the white side. This application prevented the black paint from leaking into the white side by filling the invisible cracks in the wood on the white side. So I got a perfect line between black and white.

Happy new year to you and your family too Peter.

Dear Mustafa,

I need your help.
As you probably already noticed on my blog, I was so frustrated with the result of the left Quarter gallery that I simply took my cutter and removed the whole tinkering...
I need to remake the windows... DO you remember the sizing from them? In mm?

Because on sheet 5 they are not on scale and have doubts regarding the dimensions on the other plans..;

Thx

Marc

Hi Marc, as you know, I am making everything from scratch, so the measurements on my model may not be exactly the same as yours, but I guess they are very close. Tomorrow I will draw a sketch showing the dimensions of the gallery windows in my model and send it to you. Happy new year!

P.S: Please give me your e-mail address via private message.

I started the construction of gun deck cannon carriages. There will be 30 in total. I am making the cannon carriages from pear wood. First, I prepared a block that would form the side walls with a milling cutter, then I completed the side walls by slicing the block with my table saw. After sanding and necessary drilling, I combined the front and rear wheel axles that I had prepared before with the side walls using the assembly jig I made.
