USS Constitution 1:70 Scratch

Finally I decided to do this, first give the rails the required shape and glue them in place, then make the supports. I shaped the 3rd rails by heating them with an iron, since they required bending in three different directions. Of course, this was not easy, but I achieved an acceptable result. The 2nd rails were easier, I soaked them in hot water and attached them to the molds I had prepared beforehand and waited for them to dry. I tested all the rails in place and did not see any visible defects in symmetry. Now I will paint these rails black and attach them to their places by adding the white stripes.

Great work, Mustafa! I appreciate your approach and "out of the box" thinking in the way you fabricate all of your ship's elements. Especially your work on the capstan. It demonstrates an easy method for creating a geometrically complex element. Well done!

Thanks for your kind comments Ken. By the way, my favorite TV western series in my youth was Bonanza. Your avatar reminds me of those times. Those were great times. :)

Great progress Mustafa, your rails look perfectly symmetric and really well made. This ship model is going to be a stunner.

All the best JJ..
