Wouldn’t the line be too stiff? I haven’t tightened anything yet. I’m using sewing thread. That’s about all I can find that will go through the holes in the blocks. I did notice some fuzzies though. I’ll have to deal with that in future lines.

Just use beeswax to take care of the fuzzies. Burt's Bees is a good wax found in Chapstick-like tubes in many stores.
I use the fishing line on most very small-scale models like 1/180 and smaller. It works fine for me given how plastic masts and yards bend when strings are tightened.
The term "Museum Quality" is very poorly defined. It can include models that are state-of-the-art and exceptional. It can also include just the opposite; models where watertight doors and gunports are simply drawn in with a pencil. I have seen both. Please don't be overwhelmed by the term.

There were two lines that were not waxed. All the others were.
Last year, I taught three classes, but I had to use three rooms primarily occupied by three other teachers. This year, I stay in one room, and I have a bulletin board! As a background, I used plans from three of my builds. I also printed off some pictures of my completed builds.
I built 10 ships on shelves in my classroom. The students loved them so much that I ran a model club most years. The district bought the kits and supplies.

Beautiful work on such a scale. I have done a bit of that work myself over the years. It is much harder than it seems to be when you see the finished part. You have put in some hours here and it shows in your work. Well done.
Thank you, Graman. I’ve taken a break. The fasteners on the blocks on one of my lifts broke off. Now I have to redo the lift.
Still going strong at 76. Going strong but not as long.
, I’m teaching English now, so lots of planning and grading papers. Still only working half days, though. That gives me time to go to the gym in the afternoons. But I finally got the chance to work on my Connie today. I put the sail on the fore top yard.
