I have built many large sailing ships from plastic models, mostly from Revell. Over the last several years I built my first wooden model, the Vasa 1:65 scale from Deagnostini.
I am only moderately pleased with how it came out. I am considering starting my second wooden model, the HMS Victory. I am considering a Mantua Panart kit (1:78 scale) for $525 or a Caldercraft kit (1:72 scale) for about $1525. I have read that the Caldercraft has superior wood and better instructions, but that the Panart model is still a good quality with not so good instructions. Any feedback on these two manufacturers is welcomed. Anyway, I did a somewhat feeble attempt of capturing my development on the Vasa and it is included herein. Nat League
