WARNING: ***Buying from DeAgostini***

This is a web email "contact form" that I sent to DeAgostini - I will probably will not get a response as I have done this before and never heard from them:

Dear DeAgostini,

with much patience, I have been waiting for 5 months for a stage #28 for the Lotus model. This particular stage is important as the remaining of the model stages that have been sent to me are sitting in boxes as I can not proceed until Stage #28 has been completed.

I am the founder and an Administrator of a well known ship modeling forum of which we have several modelers building various DeAgostini models. They SHARE my disappointment with your company and this is certainly a bad reflection of DeAgostini models and this will also be a heavy discouragement from myself and other modelers on my website to purchase your models.

Therefore, with another attempt at patience, I am asking if your company can investigate the real reason why it is taking 5 months just to receive the products.

I am progressively close to never purchasing a part build again as this has installed a bad taste to me.

I have attended the "chat" on your site, with very little cooperation from your staff as to the purpose of this terrible delays with only short answers with no solutions.

My only resolution is considering stopping payment on the rest of the stages until Stage #28 has been successfully shipped.

Kindly / sincere regards

Yea, they claim they are elevating this to upper management. So, my question to them is this ? How can you be out of stock for 5 months on one part ?

I DO NOT believe them - sorry - I just don't believe it.

So, here is the problem.
Stage 29 is the assembly of the left manifold / headblock / and pipes. This got built as I had this stage
Stage 28 (missing) is the assembly of the right manifold / headblock / and pipes. SAME THING FOLKS - One is left block and one is the right block - just a mirror image - there are NO mysterious parts, and yet they say that the stage 28 is out of stock - folks don't lie - DeAG - you all have a big problem.

Good to hear they responded.

Now to see how much longer you have to wait.

When I needed additional wood from OcCre, I emailed them per instructions, and never heard back, but three weeks later the package with wood showed up.

Can't really complain, but a heads up of "Your request has been worked" or something like that would have been nice.
I had a similar experience with OcCre. I crushed one of the whaling boats for my Essex model. I contacted OcCre through the appropriate form but never heard back. I eventually sent them an email and indeed, the replacement had been shipped. I was informed that since it's a replacement part, the order and shipping notifications do not appear in my account. Not that big a deal, but a 'Your replacement order has shipped' would have been nice.

To OcCre's credit, they actually sent me the entire sheet which included all four whaling boats. In no way would any of this affect me purchasing from OcCre again. In fact, I just forked over the money to buy the Titanic directly from their website.

It sounds to me by the problems we customer have experienced are resulting from a lack of staff, overworking those who are left, unreliable suppliers, and they are overwhelmed with the kit business. The economy seems to be in a slump everywhere.
