Work Boat with Sail 1910 - GK Modellbau 1:30 - UrkerVisser

Hi Urker!

If this small model is built carefully, other ship boats can also be designed and manufactured by yourself.

I replaced the oars, the benches and the floor with better wood.

Lantern, water barrel, bucket and anchor.

Narrower planks at the bow.

The planks also become narrower at the stern.

The planks on the main frame are the widest.

The kit has only a few parts. If you carefully work each piece of wood, it will be a wonderful little model.

Good luck
Thomas
Hi Thomas,

oh god your planking looks so wonderfull. I hope after building 10 more boats I'm able to make it also so perfect.
It seams you had another type of wood for your planking.

I tried it, like Pepite explained it above with an additional rule that the planks shouldn't be tapered to less than half its original width.
I started with two planks untapered from the top (what is bottom in the picture) - from your fotos I think you didn't do it like that?
But I came to a point where it was not working any more to mark the overlapping with at the same time not tapering the plant to less than half its width (1). At that point I started from the keel. Were the two plankings met I had to add some special planking (can it be called a special drop plank?).

An advice: Be really carefull with the plank bender. Do not put to much pressure (better none at all) when glueing the wet planks. I was able the create a lot of bumps that were very hard to correct afterwards.

...and I used an acrylish varnish.

Even if it by far is not looking so good as your boat, it is really funny to build it.
