Worst nightmare comes true

The weight of such news is inexpressibly difficult to bear. If my added concern lends a little shoulder, I am happy and eager to lend it. Shared concern is the best we can muster, but thanks to this forum it is available to you. I pray that you and your loved ones are not crushed by it. We breathe; we go forward. It is all we can do.
Prayers do matter. Prayers are the balm that heals. Prayers lift up the giver and receiver. Just knowing you have them helps.

The best possible outcome we can now hope for is that there is no further damage, that it can be stopped and than ultimately her kidneys are transplanted. But it could be worse. We have to take it day by day.

After the blood transfusion last night they all try to get a bit of rest today.
 
I also join the rest of the group here. I am very sorry and hate to hear this. May our dear Lord and God in heaven please respond to this situation and bring the best remedy for everyone in this family, especially this baby. Amen.

That is so tragic and heartbreaking. My prayers for the little one and parents. Knowing how much I love and adore my grandchildren I can truly feel the agony you are all suffering. Be Strong if that is possible. May perciful God bless you and yours.
 
Herman, as a grandfather myself I can commiserate with your feelings right now. I'm praying God intervenes in your granddaughter's situation in a mighty way. I'm also praying for her parents, you, and all the family involved. God Bless.

After the initial shock, reality has sunk in.
We were in the hospital today and while we were there Maia's heart was checked by the cardiologist and we were all relieved there was no damage found to her heart. One step closer to the best possible outcome.

Step by step, hopefully to a full recovery, Herman. Being so young, anything is possible and children can be amazingly resilient. Stay positive!

Thank you so much all of you.

I have said it before but again want to express my gratitude for the support given by so many members of this community.
Some time ago I was diagnosed (wrongly! turned out after 3 weeks) with bone marrow cancer and members here, one in particular to whom I am eternally grateful, helped me through that period. So to me this community means so much more than just sharing a hobby.

Let us hope and pray for the best. I will share all your expressions of sympathy with my family.
