This Xebec is the result of 1.5 years of work. There is a build-blog on this forum:

You've done an outstanding job on a model of the ship I think is the most beautiful ever. I built a Xebec from plans in Popular Mechanics magazine in the 60s, but it was lost in time. As a kid, I'd take it to our dark basement, and use a light to cast shadows on the wall, imagining it sailing from all angles. I'd be building this one if I had room for it. But I can still look at yours, in its completed glory as well as your excellent build log, and enjoy that, remembering the old times. Thank you for posting.

Oh my, what a beautiful model of a beautiful ship you have made. I could study it for a week. This is definitely a page to bookmark. Well done!

Beautiful work. Tell me about the instructions or lack of in the ZHL kit.
The unboxing video of the ZHL shows the instructions. They are not very detailed and require plenty of experience to be able to manage building this ship. It mainly shows where all the parts need to be installed. It is not a step by step manual, nor are the photos or drawings very accurate.

Thanks yes. They’re in English though right ? I know some ZHL manuals are in English.

For the Chinese kits, it would be super helpful if they all contained a set of instructions in Chinese along with "kind of" English. Google Translate and others are pretty smart with text or pictures and do a better job at working with you on a translation that the kit maker.

Then again, ships and model ship building has it's own very specific language that is difficult to translate into English...
