french 64-gunner LE FLEURON in scale 1:48 by Joachim

Thank you. The balcony is making progress, carving with a carving knife and especially the Proxxon micro drill is almost becoming routine. The carving on the balcony on the curves of both outer sides consists of many individual parts. Because of the rounding. First, I make the individual parts much thicker than needed. On the drill with a sanding attachment, I then sand the curve on the back. Then the part is adjusted and attached after the final carving.2B1C843C-A2CD-42BD-AA4E-28CABD3D8FC1.jpeg6B18A82F-A368-41CB-BF21-101998FF820D.jpeg3ECB6EAC-25EA-43A9-8E47-457963824165.jpeg

In August 19 I continued with the stern. After I have attached the cladding over the uppermost windows (strips previously bent slightly round), the lower end is made of boxwood as a decorative strip. For this I have again made my own drawing knife from a carpet knife blade.

What can I say....... I usually see remarkable jobs in here!!!! But rarely a log with this detail. A lot to learn.

appart of the quality that indiscutible and amazing, I has to bring your lack of egoism and yor patience to teach us all

THANKS A LOT!!!!

At the transom, at the very top, I've made progresses. The curved arches were not easy to make. Again with a drawing iron, I worked out the indentations. Compared to pear, boxwood is extremely hard. That was a nasty scratch
Then there are the two arches on the balcony on the sides with plinths that will soon receive an ornament. There will be a large light in the middle of the top of the stern.

Your stern with the decorations is looking very good Thumbsup
In the beginning I had the fear, that it is extremely red, "too red", but looking at the stern now - a great esthetic contrast  (and here "great" in very positiv sense)
