My discovery of this site is a little late. Im 37 and just now discovered shipbuilding as a passion that came out of left field. I’m partway through my second build, the first being the Golden Hind. I welcome any comments or suggestions that will further my knowledge of sailing ships. Here she is so far!

Are you talking about the gold pieces that curve upwards?

Looks aligned well to me. . .
I've been looking at the Panart and DeAgostini models of Soleil Royal, but have three other ships in front first!

I will say that the ZHL kit is good quality. The instructions are all over the place, but I have yet to find myself lost on anything. I did lose one of the windows on the stern, as you can see in the pics, and have been trying to contact ZHL for 5 weeks to get a new one and they are just ignoring me. Because of that it will be my last ZHL kit. That DeAgostini kit looks great, though!

Yeah, Ducati is at wrong address! Otherwise, the ship looks awesome. Have not seen hull planking that came out so nice.

That’s a shame. The model itself is very good quality, but for as expensive as they are there should be some support to go along with it.

I’m currently building the San Felipe from ZHL, it was missing the English instructions and I texted Max and he got back to me right away and sent the right ones, might be something to do with Covid because this was prior to Covid

Haha, it’s good in theory, however for some reason I never make it over there!
