Other hobbies that are not ship model building

In my younger years I have owned several motorcycles, Suzuki GT500 / Honda 750 Super Sport / Honda 900 Bol d'or. and later I rode a Harley for 13 years, a Springer / a Road-King Classic and the last was a Cross-Bones that was sold 10 years ago when we needed the cash having bought a larger house that needed a major renovation. But every spring the motorcycle virus comes around and this year I just gave in, you only live once, so when you have the means, just do it.
I made a test drive today on a 2011 Harley Fat Bob and love it. If all goes according to plan I will pick it up the 13th of May. First have to clean out the garage .

Dear Herman
Congratulations on the beautiful purchase, I very much agree with your motto for life.
this is my dream Screenshot_20230423_090518_Chrome.jpg

Who said I shouldn't be dreaming? But this is my dream...Probably expensive...but I can afford to dream. :p

I had the same dream and went out, took some classes and became a private pilot.
Almost bought my first plane (1975 Single engine Mooney M20F) with another friend pilot.
The wife stopped me and with the money got myself my second home.
I was sad that could make my dream come true so I learned how to skydive.
That really became a dream. A dream in the clouds.
I have to look around to see where I have those pictures.
This is not me but I will post a few of my own pictures when I find them.65F37716-B054-479A-8B64-34E36CE571B3.jpeg

Wow, now we have two skydivers in the forum.
Anybody else?
One is diving, the other one "only" flying.
I made also paragliding when I was younger. But after an almost crash during one (my last) flight I gave up with this sport.
Paragliding is amazing, but dangerous ...... this was my conclusion at this day.
Here in Austria we have every year several dead pilots and dozens of injured ......
Peter enjoy but be careful
