Le Rochefort

Finally getting started on the Le Rochefort. I've cut the keel, stem and stern. My primary wood is cherry.

Starting to assemble the frames 31 and 32.

And the next two frames, 29 and 30 are started: I cut out blanks that correspond with the plan's futtocks. After gluing them up, I rubber cement the frame template on. After drying overnight, I first cut the frame out at 90°, then recut at 20°.

Well done!
Please note that the middle two parts of the keelson (i1 and i2 on the plans) are wider than the other parts of the keel.
On your pictures it look likes it's identical to the rest of the keel.

The first 4 frames are ready for sanding.

My third attempt at frame 1 ... the first two were a disaster. All of the other frames were cut correctly.

Very nice frames, I also made No.1 three times. The first one failed, I got the wrong board with a thickness of 4.5mm for No.2, only the third one was the right one.

It has been a while since I posted, but the frames are in place, along with the mast step. The bow is only pinned in place.

Starting to carve the stern pieces, the carvings aren't as delicate as I had hoped.

it happened a lot woth your Rochefort - very good progress and looking very good

Very nice progress. A fairlead is still missing between the first frame and the bow, am I seeing that correctly?
