That looks very interesting, Grant. Very tight rigging!Well the shipyard was productive today.
All the blocks lashed to the main mast. I deliberately did not seat the mast so I could do this off the ship. It looks way easier than it is. I had to redo both lashings…..
Here is the “hodge podge” of blocks etc - PS and SB

Good evening Peter. Hopefully the binding don’t slip when I tension the stays. They did a tiny bit on my foremast….not enough to redo thankfully. As for Kantklossen..I will leave that for you guys up northThat looks very interesting, Grant. Very tight rigging!
In Dutch we call that ‘kantklossen”:
Regards, Peter
Thanks Heinrich. Yep I’m happy with these. Now to make 12 blocks and toggles (6 each side) for the running rigging of the stays. A few violin blocks will enter the fray as well. It is such unusual rigging plan on these Xebecs yet they are very functional. Almost ahead of their times. Cheers GrantWOW - lashed to the mast the rigging looks even better than when viewed in isolation. Stunning young man!
You make me blush my friend. However the gentleman who is the master, my rope work mentor is Johan @archjofo. Off the charts stuffStunning rope work Grant, nobody does it better my friend.
When my rigging starts to sag, I kantklossen it back up to where it’s tight again.Good evening Peter. Hopefully the binding don’t slip when I tension the stays. They did a tiny bit on my foremast….not enough to redo thankfully. As for Kantklossen..I will leave that for you guys up north. Cheers Grant
Good morning Heinrich. Thanks. I made the fore and Mizzen before and clearly had a blond moment when doing the main incorrectly twice. Anyway fixed and happyThat re-do looks wonderful Grant! There is no comparison to the "Before" shot, so that was well worth it!
Thank kindly sir. Cheers GrantNice work Grant the rope work is exquisite
Good morning Mark. Good to see you are alive and kicking. Thanks for the compliment. I am enjoying rigging this ship, no “standing” shrouds and thousands of ratlines, just a whole lot of stays and violin blocks. Very clever configuration. So different to those British ships with that crowed rigging. Cheers GrantVery nice blocks and seizing Grant! I'm reaching that stage in my own model now so I will follow your example with even more interest than usual![]()
Beautiful, amazing work.Good afternoon.
I had to redo my lower binding on the main mast…again. The lower binding needs flow over each block line :

Thank you very much. I appreciate it. Cheers GrantBeautiful, amazing work.
Nothing boring, your work looks great, thanks for showing. But I can understand you would like to leave the repetitive work behind you. So on to the fun stuff..Good morning
Some more boring pics…pretty much same same.
The blocks for the main stays are now completed. Just 12 toggles to make (not my favourite task)..
