Hi all,
Just started this beautiful kit a week ago.
Built the slipway and as there is a big coverage of the initial build, I will start mine with the nitty gritty.
Have found a real bugbear with rib 16. Just seems the primary floor base strips won’t sit so I have to cut the open slot a little deeper to accommodate the strips. Anyone else find this problem or is it me ?
A few pics to start so you can see how far i am in the build.

A quick jump forward to stern as I wanted to fit the shaped opening so I could fit the rudder post and so use the slipway sliding clamps to hold both ends of the ship. Feels safer and stronger that way.
Made a small jig to cut the shape. Awkward shape to hold and cut on its own. My little Proxxon bandsaw did it’s magic. Nice bit of kit.

Good morning. This kit is a fascinating build. Looks like a lot of fun. All looking spot on so far. I have pulled up my chair here. Cheers Grant

Another addictive day today. Managed the detailing. Loads of liggle bits but Wow! they fit so well. This really is a lovely and well thought out kit.
If you think I’ve overdone on the clamps, it was a necessity as the fake imitation wood panelling just wanted to curl up when the glue was applied. All dried flat and even after I showed it who’s boss here .

Good work - and you prooved, that you are the boss (with 100 clamps) - no chance for the wood

Maybe not a hint for you, beacuse it will be hard to make the same treenails like the laser burned by the manufacturer,
but maybe as a hint towards Pavel Nikitin
At the ending of planks, f.e. at a hatch, there should be also two treenails per deck plank (I marked them in red)

This f.e. is one reason, why I personally do not like decks with laser marked treenailing - especially not dominant in size

Yes! Totally agree, also then the intermediate planks would be treenailed on every rib.
If I I was 20 years younger, I would so do this but I feel time is running short for every detail that I would like to do.
In my peak I used to do make and paint resin kits. So loved them. A little example here if I may.
Really into Chinese creations and art.

Beautiful work Sir!

Little more, big step here.
First rough sand of the hull, all going to plan.
Loads of bits and pieces made up.
Note to other future builds. The longer stairs look the same but one string is slightly longer than the other to allow for the canber of the deck.
Realised this after but will have to adapt.
Digging out my airbrush from a while back to weather the decks and various bulkheads, etc.
