Finally reached my full rib installation milestone. In addition to endless sanding, I've concentrated on the ship's transom area, the future taffrail will set further back on top of the grated decking area. First an overall of the completed ribs.

The following transom area has been a tough challenge, first just trying to visualize exactly how the pieces go together. Then reading from translated Chinese and looking at the very poor-quality pictures in the printed instructions was kicking my rear side for several days. I then remembered this kit came with a CD which when I opened, it contained the same set of pictures but in fantastic high dpi quality which enabled me to go ahead and start dry fitting all the pieces I had cut out and prepped for install. It became necessary to remove small portions of the jig (you can see fresh cut plywood areas) to facilitate the assembly. The rest of these photos are a process pectoral HA! I am building up my pecs. Lets try pictorial.

For ease of access a homemade lift.

And some final photos.

I lost count how many times I'd file a little then test fit repeat until it works and looks good.
Well, it's back to the sanding dungeon, I sure thank you all for checking in.

Till next time.

Hello Daniel,

very nice work and really well realized. Yes, yes, the sanding. I know it well enough and sometimes it really pushes you to your limits. But if the result looks like yours, then it was worth it. Well done.

I saw these red clips in a picture to hold the frames in place. May I ask where you got these clamps? Ebay, Amazon?

Best regards
Günther Ship-1

Congratulations, Daniel!
A beautiful milestone for you!

Hi Günther, thanks for the complements. The red clips came from a chain craft store here in the US called Michaels (very similar to Hobby Lobby). They also had some miniature clothespins; these little clamps are handy as a shirt pocket.

Thanks Paul. How about your next project, are you researching anything yet?
I started working a bit on something but I'm not sure if it will work out so I haven't really been taking photos. I also have some new shop tools I have been on-boarding. All of this to say that I may have a new build report started eventually (or not).

Hmm... sounds suspiciously like a design and construct project???

Hmmmm I’m with Daniel here Paul …, very suspicious ROTF . Can’t wait for this to be revealed. Cheers Grant
