Cross-section of a 17th-century Pinas by Peter

Good afternoon friends, many thanks for the interest, the comments, and the likes.
Again it is almost two months since the last update, so it is about time for the next one.
The deck between the binding strakes has been laid, The stairs was made, and placed

The gratings were made and placed, but i think i made a mistake with them, they where to high voor the edges that were made, so this has to be corrected at some time.

After this, i went on with the outerskin from bottom to top, the Sheerrail ( in Yellow ), the Spirketting ( in Red ), and on top the clinker built top side ( in Green )

Now its time for the inside again, From the deck to the topside, red strips were placed, and to prevent me messing the entire crossection up with red paint, i made strips in the correct length and width, and i painted them outside the crossection.
After this tey were placed.

The last two parts were placed after i made the strips that had to enclose the top timbers, Those enclosure strips was quite a thing to be made by the way, the first two were spoiled straigth away, because i broke the teeth away. so i made a little drawing on the strip, then i drilled holes in the corners, and to strenghten the strips i put superglue on them.
After this i was able to make all teeth of the comb

While i was doing this, my Admiral tried to take a picture of all 3 remaining See Devils ( the Cats ) on the scratching post, which does not happen verry often here.

When the enclosure strips were made, they got painted, black with a yellow edge, and placed. now the red inside could be finished.
When this was done a pin rack was placed

Here you can also see that the gratings got another edge around them, this looks a bit better, Also the spindle is partly visible, here is the spindle complete

Adding the colors on the model gives her a nice appearance, Peter.
A nice progress.
Regards, Peter

That broadside picture looks incredible! The colors pop nicely, the cannons look great, and your treenails really add texture and depth to the planking!

The deck fittings are also really looking superb!

Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the compliment Brad, there has to come some stain on the lower parts, but first finish the treenails, and i hope to stain it as light as possible.
Thanks for dropping in.
I hope to find some time soon to see your Salamandre, and your finished crossection
