HMAV BOUNTY - A “face lift “

You’ll do this, Grant! Even if it means scrapping those bikes for materials, right? ROTF
Thank you- the bike gives nothing but oil and 2 stroke fuel….;). Non the less something a solution we will find. (Yoda speak)ROTF.
I'm wondering if you are creating the print files yourself or finding something suitable online?
Hi Paul. Neither. Luckily a fine fellow modeller on SOS sent me some STL files of certain Bounty parts. My CAD design skills are still severely lacking.
Good looking action avatar!
Your Bounty comes along quite nicely; since I don't know zilch about the Bounty, that is hardly a valuable opinion...
Thanks Johan. I don’t know much about the Bounty eitherROTFROTF
If that new avatar is after knee surgery, it looks like you've healed well and have full strength!

Next try, nail those quarter-galleries! First attempt looks pretty good.
Good evening Brad. It has been 4 months since my replacement. I’m not at full strength just yet but I am really happy with my progress. My Mx ride was just a gentle ride around the track. I don’t think my knee would handle a proper go just yet. I have also started cycling again (also gentle trails) so very happy with my recovery.
Hey Grant,

great lady you've made there. Really very beautiful and the Bounty ... a dream ... The madness ...
Thank you Gunther. I think we are all mad- trying to build tiny scale ships ……ROTF.
I'm not going to comment on the quarter galleries as I don't like to disparage people, but I am glad you are working to improve your skills even after the model is done. And I personally liked the old avatar, it made me think you looked like Keanu Reeves.
Good evening . You are most welcome to disparage my failed attempt….I have a thick skinROTF. My old Avatar was a bit flattering as 3 years have past and now days I look more like “Sméagol (Gollum from Lord of the rings ) than Keanu Reeves ROTF

Cheers Grant

A nice bike-avatar is always ……nice, Grant. And good to read that you are back on track on both type of bikes.
You the best what parts needs a re-do. With new 3D challenges.
Regards, Peter
Good morning Peter. Thank you. I am very chuffed with my knee replacement recovery so far. It was a very painful recovery the first 2 months especially when the physio worked me. Many swear jars overflowed :D . When my friend comes back from Poland we will attempt our first adventure ride since my op so I wont be envious of your bike trip pictures anymoreROTF. As for the Bounty badges I will give it some more goes and see if I can get it looking good. Cheers Grant

Hey Grant,

I felt the same way after my knee operation. Nevertheless, the rehab afterwards was enormously important in order to be able to function again. I have a knee prosthesis in my right knee ... Yes, yes, sport and the motorbike sometimes take their toll faster than usual. It's great that you can do things again without pain. Isn't it great to have no more pain in your knee ...? I think your Bounty is great like Grant ... Keep it up ... First Place Metal Thumbsup

Hey Grant! no problemo, I had bilateral knee replacements. Correct, darn painful, but take courage. Exactly 7 months later I cycled (Bicycle/pushbike) a 200km event with 2,700 climbing metres with no knee issues other than I finished knackered and booked again for the following year. Take Care.

Good morning everyone. I have spent time fixing my Vintage motocross bike. Got it going again and took it for my first ride since my knee op. Everything went surprisingly well. I have change my avatar as my previous one was rather old.

Anyway I attempted the quarter cabin/badge. Was a disaster so will have to redo. To keep my “zero cost” challenge I 3D printed it and included windows to match the stern. Stuck on with prestick.

Nope failure ROTF. Anyway here are some pics-

I’m running out of scraps of wood and ideas……. Never give up.
Cheers Grant
Definitely an improvement over what you started with. Good work you’re doing Grant!

Thank you gentlemen. It is always good to hear others who have a success with their “new” knees as well. There is hope for me yetROTF.

Good after Dean. That it is. Still a long way to go but definitely something I can give to Justin to display- not perfect but he won’t know that;). Thanks for the compliment and encouragement. Cheers Grant
