BONHOMME RICHARD, Cross Section

Hi all

The Anatomy of the Bounty, by Artesania Latina, first version (~30 years old kit) was finished. Now I am building the Gunboat Philadelphia as part of Olha Batchvarov Facebook group built. Every weekend, Olha built a section, that takes her around 2-3 hours. More or less the same amount or a bit more is what I spend too. That leaves me with free hobby time during the week. The Bounty was completed so..... I need to start another project. :-)

I picked the Bonhomme Richard cross section (pear wood) from my kit stock. This is the full kit version. I bought this kit from a SOS member a few years ago.

There are SOS excellent builts threads. Here is the link to some that I will follow for my built. Nevertheless, if anybody is interested on this kit, I will suggest you take a look to all of them, as i am doing.

So, here is my first frame :-) . Wish me fun and a bit of luck :-) HAHAHA

I'll be following this build. I have been watching Olha for years and love her work

Update

I started to do the bread oven when I realized that it was better to finish the external side of the hull. In that way I definitely will have the full shape and height of the ship. Now I can concentrate on the internal parts and corresponding decks.

The ship shape is cut using a template.

Then I added all the planking and hand rails. There are details that i haven't added yet. This is where I am now :

The bulk of the bread oven is finished. I still need to add a few details. Those will be added when i set it up on the deck.

This is all for now

Hi all, thank you very much for all the comments and likes.

A small update today, that took me a few afternoons to achieve.

I worked this week on 1 cannon. Yes, I only could finish 1 cannon. I used the rigging blocks provided with the kit. But they aren't the correct ones for all the places. Order the correct ones and let see if I order the correct size. Nevertheless, the companion cannon, on this deck, will be done in the same way.

For the first time in my modeler life I did my own ropes with a vertical rope making machine.
