What ho, shipmates!
For a variety of reasons, I haven't been in the shipyard as intended over my Christmas break. Really, the whole period has been one disaster after another. Time with family; an expert gig that popped up out of nowhere and a trip to New Orleans where I sweated my butt off. Here are a few snaps of my disappointing holidays - including the gift Santa brought me - a live baby doll

- What am I supposed to do with a live baby doll? I asked for
USS Kearsarge from BlueJacket!

Well, thank heavens all of that is behind me! I'm back in the shipyard with progess to report! So, stay tuned!
In the meantime a final thought for the beginning of a new year and evey day.
"One river gives its journey to the next
We give because somone gave to us.
We give because nobody gave to us.
We give because giving has changed us.
We give because giving could have changed us.
We have been better for it,
We have been wounded by it --
Giving has many faces:
It is loud and quiet,
Big, though small, diamond in wood-nails.
Its stoy is old, the plot worn and the pages too,
But we read this book, anyway, over and again;
Giving is, first and every time, hand to hand,
Mine to yours, yours to mine.
You gave me blue and I gave you yellow.
Together we are simple green.
You gave me
What you did not have, and I gave you
What I had to give -- together, we made
Something greater from the difference."
