A bit late, but, was the round up (rounding) of the decks on French ships similar to that of the English ships? The closest I could find is below.
60 gun English ship 1719
Orlop 2 inches
Lower gun deck 4 inches
Upper gun deck 7 inches
Forecastle 6 inches
Quarter deck 6.25 inches
Round house 8.5 inches

70 gun English ship 1719
Orlop 2 inches
Lower gun deck 4.25 inches
Upper gun deck 7.25 inches
Forecastle 6.25 inches
Quarter deck 7 inches

Hello

Quite some time passed from last update. The most important news: this is the end. Although I would really like to continue this project, the number of annoying little bugs or gaps is simply too great for me. It's not that bad after all I learned some things and certainly made myself a list what to watch out in next project:)

The reason of such delay in between last update is the hull.. actually two hulls as I also made one for Ambitieux. This time I wanted to limit laser cuts to only nesesary elements like deck beams, becuse non stop adjusting settings was to much material and time consuming thats why I wanted to make almost whole hull in resin. After initial fixes overall test seemed ok. Only down side- it's expensive as it takes a lot of resin to print. Little cheper and more pleasent looking alternative would be CNC, but it's much more time and attention consuming and it's a topic for diffrent model

I just did some researches on Le Brillant 1690 and if it could be of any help, Herge's Tintin The Licorne ship was directly inspired by this boat... and since there are a lot of models out there of The Licorn, perhaps it could help you :)

I’ve already used the original design from the Admiral Paris plans. It’s really a matter of keeping costs down before it’s too late. Designing was fun, but it also reminded me not to get sidetracked by side projects. They’re great for learning Blender and working with different machines, but I need to get back to the main work on the Ambitieux
