Soleil Royal Ornaments and figurines for 3d print

The figurines are beautiful, I must admit. However, in my opinion, the painting is done incorrectly. There is no wash, no emphasized shadows and half-shadows. Just a layer of paint sprayed on and that's it...
I would like to emphasize that this is my opinion, perhaps an isolated one, but that is my impression.

He need just apply a thick layer of black wash, remove it gently, then reapply target color, and again very gently "dry" wash, and the effect will appear by itself. Effect of antique gold.

Thank you. I'm not interested at the moment. Besides, this sculpture doesn't fit my version of Soleil Royal. What's more, the stern consists of many more sculptures that have to match each other. Buying one or two sculptures won't speed up my work because I have to modify them to fit my design anyway.

Wiem kuba, wiem.

The Soleil Royal is on top of my list and it would be great to have 3D printed parts instead of the kit provided. Unfortunately I don’t have 3D printer and I have no time at the moment to get into this field.
Maybe when I get closer to buying the model, I can devote more time to a new hobby.

Cyesiek, I think SeasModel wants to show off his 3D model and not his talent as a painter. I am interested in his Soleil Royal parts since I can see what I get and not what I could get, if I invest uncountable hours of painting, like your viking.

The designer doesn't have to be a great painter. He gives customers the opportunity to express their own skills.

The tricky part is that a couple of random ornaments won't help you build the Soleil Royal. Designing a figurehead or other ornaments is not so complicated. The hard part is getting all the parts to fit together as a system. They also need to fit the rest of the ship and the planking. Without a ship to base them on, they're just pretty miniatures. With the Soleil Royal, the problem is that there are no actual historic plans of the ship.. For now, we only have imaginary kits that resemble(poorly) the Tanneron model and the recent creation of Artesania, which is more accurate. However, it could be much more accurate, but perhaps it was changed on purpose for legal reasons (but that's just my speculation).

Much as I like Tanneron's Soleil Royal, it is not his only model. He has also made a much less historically questionable model of Le Brilliant, a 64-gun ship representing the closed boutelies style of the First Marine or 120-gun ship L'Ocean

Hello
With a little free time, I decided to go back and rework some models of Soleil Royal. With all the knowledge I managed to gain, I decided to start over the Apollo in chariot sculpture. Instead of sculpting horses from ground zero, I used already available assets and resculpted them for my needs.

I also made figures of Europe and Asia. I figured the dull background of Blender is not as impressive as render, so I decided to give a ChatGPT a free hand to help me with adding colors and life to my sculptures. Unfortunately, in the process I lost some of the details as AI tends to change things on its own, but overall I'm very happy with results. What do you think? Should I tone down the brightness a little?

Another great news is that I got some Shellac from my friend Mirek, and those colours are available to achieve in real life. :D

so you used blender to sculpt those pieces?
Yes. I wanted to combine blender and other program for CAD. It turned out blender has enough features to simulate CAD calculations to keep whole hull+sculptures design in one program. And to answer your question in other topic: You don't need a resin printer. There will be difference in details between fdm and resin printer it's up to you if you want to pay. The main difference is printing time and quality. For example when you need 90 guns for Soleil Royal with resin printer it will take only an hour with fdm it's 90- assuming the same printing time. To get same detail you probably need 0.2mm nozzle, so it will take more time to print.

Try typing "printing miniatures in FDM" in youtube - you will judge for yourself whether you need resin printer
