I seem to be on a roll with motorcycle models so let's keep going. Here is my latest. This is the 2005 version of Yamaha's YZR-M1 MotoGP bike as ridden by American Colin Edwards during the 2005 season. The retro strobe paint scheme was only used at the US Grand Prix round to celebrate 50 years of racing by Yamaha. The model is 1:12 scale build from the Tamiya kit. Straight from the box other than a few carbon fiber decals.

Thanks Doc! Achieving a blemish free, high gloss BLACK paint job is one of the most difficult model finishing tasks in my opinion. The paint needs to still look wet even after it is dry!!!

My latest bike. This is a 1980 Honda CB-750F. However, it has been custom tuned for track use. Lower bars, 4-into-1 exhaust, dry clutch, Ohlins shocks, oil cooler, chopped rear fender, mirrors/turn signals/passenger footpegs removed. This is 1:12 scale built from the Tamiya kit. I used a selection of airbrushed metallics, metal foils, and chrome markers to get the various effects to go along with the paint job.
A very neat kit , you do have a eye for the smallest detail on the bike . Beautiful kit , how long did it take to paint and build it?
Thanks.. The oil cooler has braided steel lines but you can't see them in the photo. I rode, raced, and wrenched on bikes for decades is the reason for the details. This one was actually an easy build since it doesn't have a fairing or much bodywork. Probably about 25 hours total build time. But that is spread out over a couple months.

How about a model of US Army Duck, or what ever the proper designation is. My dad who went to Germany just after the war bought a old used Duck surplus and drove it for a few years until after he got married. Mom said she hated the Duck.
Hmmm.. I think I have a German Schwimmwagen but no Duck. When it comes to military armor models, I mostly build WWII German stuff.

Well, it is a good kit. The paint job is easy especially if you have experience with other military models. You may find the wiring the most difficult part. The only negative about this kit is the scale. At 1:9 it is indeed a nice large size .. but if you ever intend to do a collection of bikes there are not many at this scale. Most motorcycle models are 1:12 scale.
Give it a shot. Would love to see you build it!!!!
After having seen Mike's "storage area" I came to the conclusion that a lot of the so-called hobby shops I have visited don't have a clue about what a hobby shop should be. I thought I was a hoarder until I saw those shelves. And he actually finds the time to build them
