15000 Members !! 16000 Member Mark !!!

From little Acorns mighty Oak trees grow......

I think the big attraction this Forum has is atmosphere and I don't mean a cheesy song by Russ Abbott (apologies to those from outside the UK who have never heard it, it was far from a global number oneROTF)

The fact that we do allow humour, banter and peoples personalities to shine through is what I am talking about. This hobby can be quite a solitary one for many and the forum gives members the free opportunity to socialise online as well as discuss " how to shape your Cant frames" with likeminded people around the globe without prejudice, politics,or underlying ulterior motives

this is very true the forum is about the hobby and the people who take part in it. We make an effort to keep the forum clean of prejudice, politics,or underlying ulterior motives and the IP theft of its content and posts, and attacks from haters. We found out no one really cares so it is pointless.

so we carry on and enjoy the company and the hobby we like it all the sucesses and mistakes we learn from it all.

I just had a coffee on this one "likeminded people around the globe without prejudice, politics, or underlying ulterior motives" ,and a good laugh on the Shipmodeling Monoply Cartel :D ;)

it is not a "Shipmodeling Monoply Cartel" that suggest control over the hobby and there is no contol it is a "hate cult"

can't control the members they are free to do what the want:)
can't control the retail end and who can sell what:confused:
can't control other forums or groups:mad:
can't control the businesses and manufactures:rolleyes:

so it's pointlessThumbsup

good lord it's a free for all and that is a good thing. Alien

Great website and initiative. A shared and common interest that gave birth to an amiable and thriving community. Maybe our world leaders should take note ROTF

Well done to Donnie and the other SOS staff who keep this site going. It is indeed a pleasant place to visit Thumbsup

i totally agree Nomad be nice if world leaders took note, even better if fraction of our own ship modeling community would take note of working together as an amiable and thriving community. But blinded by hate still prevents that, some day NRG/KIR leaders will see the light and stop the slash and burn campaign and distruction of the hobby. Thumbsdown
But if that never happens in the end it won't matter because we are an international force of 10,000 and growing. ;)

I'm waiting for Paul's Wasa thread to pass the 11,000 post mark. . . :D
LOL
let us see, which of the busy logs will reach first this mark?

The Sovereign (@DARIVS ARCHITECTVS ) or the Victory (@GrantTyler )?

The Vasa? (@dockattner )

or I think, that the race will be won by @Heinrich - in only one year close to 5.000 posts
Screenshot 2022-11-15 090057.png

so there is only a little bit longer than 1 year necessary

Even the Naval History thread will definitely not reach this mark so fast - this started already in 2018 - so no chance

BTW: Great news to have now already 11.000 members - imagine all of us at one place - this would be a very big Come Together

In the presence of all the superbly exquisite builds mentioned here, I am humbled to think that a plain and seemingly simple, little ship could attract this reaction. However, all the credit for the number of posts must go to my friends on SOS who have contributed so generously to this build log - be it in the form of comments, critique, advice, a sympathetic ear during the multitude of re-dos, or a thumbs-up. You are great and I can't thank you enough for your support.
