This is the barrel that I found on line. However, I had to glue a piece on the bottom for the swivel.
If you can post your file on line, I would like to have a copy. It would make building any further Smashers much easier. The above was built out of poplar for the decking and chestnut for the other parts. Thanks much for your reply. Your work is really great. I might try my hand at a double one.
good job.. I like the Popular decking, I'll probably use that for mine. Where should I post the fires ? Is there a place here to post it or PM me with your email address and I'll send it you..
now that Michigan has locked us down until mid April, I'll have some time to hopefully get started on this. This is where the CAD model stands. Just need to finish up the hatch area. I think. Any other suggestions.
Yep, just need to figure out where the appropriate viewing windows would show the details. Cardstock will my friend at that time, I can print the planking lines on it and trim it from there.
I also had a question. Would it make sense to put a couple of scarph joints on the hull planking (just for additional detail) as in the 'borrowed' image? maybe in Wale's plank.
Well, the weather finally warmed up and I finished the spring yard work. I got the wood cut for the rubs for the model. There planks 1 1/8 inch wide x 1/2 inch thick.
