Amerigo Vespucci 1:84 by Panart/Mantua Build – RC Enabled

Still here plodding along.

The fore deck is largely completed. Will complete the aft and mid over the next couple of days................. then I need to focus on all the life-boats.

I think I'm still on target to complete the build by Christmas.

Progress marches on... I need to fabricate another 10 of these by the end of the year to meet my revised completion date. At one a week, I might just make it (unless I get sidetracked... again).

BTW, this mini planking is a real chore!

As we get closer to completion, it's time to think about final ballast trimming. I've learned from previous builds that a floatation tank simplifies the trimming process.

My float boxes on hand were too small for the Amerigo's hull, so I elected to build a 'big' box that will accommodate future builds up to 48-inch (1200mm) NWL, and a 12-inch (300mm) beam and draft.

I'll apply coat of varnish and seal the seams next week.
