Amerigo Vespucci - 1:84 Panart

Hello all
Further to my previous post, I have mainly done 3 things:
- secure all ropes and adding rope hanks/coils
- change the direction of the anchors that were wrong
- added the first 4 boats: commander motor boat, diesel motor boat and 10m motor boats

Below the pictures including some detailed pictures of the decks.

I am now taking a few weeks break, in the US visitng my children and grand children for the holidays.
I'll be back towards the end of January and I'll resume the build then.

Cheers to all and happy holidays.
Good morning Gilbert. Just beautiful. It is such an impressive model - so busy with so many details and a mass of rigging…..and you are owing it. Happy holidays back. Cheers Grant

I went back to the beginning of your build log and realized that this has been an amazing 2 year journey for you. Congrats. Have you sourced your Caldercraft Victory yet? Should be another epic build.

Again, I just wanted to say congratulations ..... this is a wonderful build and you should be very, very proud of your work.
Thanks Gene
You are right: 2 years build
Yes, I have sourced the CC Victory and look forward to starting it once I am back home

When I started my AV I estimated a two year build. I had some medical issues that kept me from it a few months so now I am looking at 2 1/2 years at least, which makes it good value for money if you think of it in Euros per hour.
As in the past I will be using your log a lot for reference.
Congratulations on such a beautiful piece of work.
Have a great time in the States.

Thanks Barcomad and happy New Year to you and your family

I'm quite new here and am in the beginning stages of HMS Victory. I really enjoyed this documentation of your build. I'm considering the Amerigo as my next build. That or the San Felipe?

Hello friends
After a little over 2 years, I have now completed the Mantua/Panart Amerigo Vespucci.
Adding the sails and the associated rigging was quite an effort, especially considering a total of close to 20 sails.
Anyway, this is now behind me and I am happy with the final results.
The last step will be to build a proper cabinet for her. I'll do that at the same time I start my next build Caldercraft HMS Victory.
Below some pictures of the completed model.

Let me be the first to say...BRAVO!!!! What an achievement. I have enjoyed your log and I will use it as my guideline to building my AV that I hope to start this year. Congrats Gilbert, she really is a beauty.

Gilbert! Bravo, you have made one of the finest examples of the Amerigo Vespucci I have seen!
Il est maintenant temps de boire un verre de bon vin blanc.
