I started basic woodcarving a year or so back. Everyone in my tolerant family received a butchered basswood Christmas Santa or Snowmen this year .
Anyway, to your question. One of the YouTube sites I really enjoy is by a lady named Sharon. She starts with the four basic cuts, including the “stop cut”. She has an easy going way of getting the information across. Not sure if this is what you are looking for but I hope it helps.
This Forum discusses the many techniques for Carving and Etching Images using various materials. Enjoy Carving your own Figure Heads, Stern Decorations, etc. Your imagination is unlimited in this forum.

There is also a banner on the main page (Carving ornamentation for ship models), when you click on it you come on a site where you can order a book about the subject in pdf or paper.
Dear Friends,
I would like to ask A question about carving / sculpting in boxwood:
whether it is very hard to need knock sculptors and not hand sculptors, or whether it is soft enough and suitable for working with hand sculptors and for small-scale sculpture like figuredhead ?
thanks
