Thanks. The next layer may prove to be more challenging. Any advice?Congratulation for closing the ships hull - looking very good
You are on a very good way to prepare a very good basis for the second planking
Thanks. I'm staining a batch of planking to get started on the finished layer.ship is taking shape. It looks great. I cant wait for next installments of your build.
Good morning Captain J. Wonderful work. You are doing this kit justice. I love the stain colour you are using- makes it realistic….well in a mythical ship. Cheers GrantLittle update. Planking going along. Trimming around the details proved to be quite time consuming. I sanded some planking strips down thin to use as shims in order to cut down on the stepping down look on the planking at the bow area. Seems to be helping. Rookie manoeuvre?

Thanks for the infro. There sure is alot to learn. It's hard when you have never done it. But seeing it done right helps to understand the process. I'm afraid I'm in for a rude lesson. But I am enjoying the learning curve.Good day!
It turns out beautifully.
Take a look here https://modelshipworld.com/topic/31934-planking-primerpdf/
It is well shown how the finishing of the hull of the ship is done.
