Ok planking under way. I decided to go back and forth and trying to keep it the same on both sides. Not sure if it matters one the first layer but here we go.

Wow. My first plank job in the books. Some sanding and a little filler, well that was fun. It is starting to look like a ship.

Well got the deck done. It looks alot better than I expected. Took me awhile. Tried to stay Patient no need to hurry. Planning my next step. Second layer of planking on the hull. I have been looking forward to the challenge.

Eye bolts in and planking underway. Steady as she goes. Something about doing and seeing the ship coming together. Very gratifying.

Little update. Planking going along. Trimming around the details proved to be quite time consuming. I sanded some planking strips down thin to use as shims in order to cut down on the stepping down look on the planking at the bow area. Seems to be helping. Rookie manoeuvre?

Good morning Captain J. Wonderful work. You are doing this kit justice. I love the stain colour you are using- makes it realistic….well in a mythical ship. Cheers Grant

Thanks for the infro. There sure is alot to learn. It's hard when you have never done it. But seeing it done right helps to understand the process. I'm afraid I'm in for a rude lesson. But I am enjoying the learning curve.
