Making some progress. I feel like I am gaining some confidence. Still a long way to go. Having a blast seeing it come together. Slooooooooly

Tackled the lige boat. Not done yet but I like the way its going. I used some small beads as feet for the cabnet. Not so much for looks but it gives me more surface to glue it down and I do think ot looks good as well.

On to the masts. Got one done. Glad I did the main Mast first. The parts were a little bigger and easier to handle. Now I have a plan. That was not easy buy the way.

Well got the masts done for now. Staying home for the holidays so I may still get something done. Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Some progress. Put on the deck parts. Chainplates and deadeyes under way.

Started In on the upper parts of the masts with lanyards and rat lines. I figured I do as much as I can before mounting them on the ship. Good thing to. This part is taking me some time. By the time I get done I'll be goid at it.

Nice work! I'm thinking of getting this model as well to try. I'm finishing up the Buccaneer by Occre so probably be a while. I have a couple questions:

1. What are you using as far as wood stain and/or varnish? I like the look of the sheen you achieved on the planking, curious if I can replicate that myself.
2. Are you aware of any US distributors who sell this model?

I have the yards done and painting them.
To answer the ?. I used minwax red mahogany #225. After some days 2 coats tung oil. Days in-between.

I've been experimenting with various finishes and had been considering Minwax poly satin finish, but I like the look of Tung oil - thanks for the confirmation.

Rigging spars and foot ropes in particular is challenging at best and often frustrating in the extreme! Nice work!
