Bomb Vessel Granado Cross Section, Scale 1:72, POF Kit by Miniature Arts

The upper deck were finished, the hanging knees will follow when the deck is glued in the hull (I thought about doing the deck removeable but that will not work unfortunately). That will be some fun ... haha ... not. I really

Then the Mortar were built and painted, all the metalwork will follow later. I also finished the Mortar Housing and decides to go like it is in the kit and the Goodwin Book.

Lot's of adjustments were necessary (Side Covers - I might redo them completely later) and some parts just don't fit (canopy planks - the laser kerf problem) or were wrong (inner Canopy Transom). Nothing will be glued, everything is removeable.

For the deck planking I will use (American) Holly and the planking will be removeable too.

Hi, Dirk-
As someone not new to modelling- but fairly new to ship modelling, I am stunned by the cleanliness of your work- and the lack of any visible glue runout... what kind of glue do you use- and how do you keep everything so clean??? Also, how are the nail holes done please
Wes

I avoided it for quite a while. The kit did not include a chainplate/deadeye ensemble, and the front part of the channel board is also missing. So I had to do it by my own. I used the excellent Dry Dock Deadeyes and Iron chain Strop and did the Chain Plates by my own. It's not perfect and not exactly as on the contemporary drawing but it tells the story and I am quite happy with the result as it does not look "naked" there anymore :-)

The area marked in red shows the part of the channel board that was not included in the kit.

Hi Christian,

yes I know I read about (from you) a while ago. I tend to show the guns (as spectators like guns) but not 100% sure yet :-)

Thanks for your kind comment though :-)

cheers

I like this very much. It’s beautifully built. I never appreciated before this how tricky a cross section model could be.

I believe you once posted a completed model on the Brirmodeller forum? I remember that it had keel boards, but little else except that it inspired me to switch from plastic to wood. Thank you for that. :D

Swifel Gun Pedstal and Swivel Gun done. Both unfortunately also not included in the kit. I had some spare 3D printed Swivels I got from Master Korabel a time ago. They fit perfectly in my opinion :-)

The list what to do gets shorter :-D
