Drakar "OSEBERG" from Pavel Nikitin 1:25 [COMPLETED BUILD]

Finally, the kit package arrived. Have wanted to build a Viking ship for a long time, but there hasn't been a good historically accurate kit. But now Pavel has put on the market a very nice kit. Have done an initial review of the content and can say that the quality is of a very high class. It will be a real pleasure to start building this model.

I built the 1/25 scale Oseberg from Billings several years ago and believe it accurately represents the museum original. Why do you think the Drakkar model is the first to be historically accurate?

Unlike the smaller toy-like Billings models, this one is generally of excellent quality. In particular the pre-cut plywood strakes fitted perfectly to the bulkhead/frames and the hull shape appeared magically with minimal need for trimming or adjustment.

Ok, you're right. Didn't think of Billing boat. I don't have very good experiences with that brand.

The first day of the year and the first plank in place. This looks like a good day and hopefully the start of a good year for us all. The hope applies especially to all those who are now living in difficult circumstances.

It looks like there is a miss on the jig. There is not enough space for the bow and stern. I solved it by taking out a cut in the jig. Then there was no problem.
