The same goes up for your work Doc! Thanks!Fantastic Peter. Your work is always a joy to see.
All of above
Hi Peter, very elegant, your carving skills are mesmerizing.Hi everybody,
The last work on my Xebec is a continuation of some of the woodcarvings. I'll show you the proces.
The "column shaped" design is more and less the design OcCre went for in their kit and I liked it and so kept it. Just made them out of wood instead of the prefabricated castings.

Good morning Peter- No way! I don’t know how you craft such beautiful carvings. I tried to make a flower for my stern gun ports. Well I can’t say more thanHi everybody,

Looks great Peter! Excellent carving skills you are showing! I see you want in on the scroll action!![]()
I would like to see the carving you tried to make. Just keep practising and eventualy it works out for you. Begin with a scroll or something easy and eventualy after a few tries, things fall into the right place....or apart....Good morning Peter- No way! I don’t know how you craft such beautiful carvings. . I’m going to have to make a plan someday as the Cazador decorations wont fit. Your Xebec is wonderful. Brilliant Peter. Cheers Grant
Actually I think the flower you showed is the easiest, because it’s just cutting in straight lines. A scroll requires you cut around a curve and change the angle of the gouge (roll it on its edge) as you reach the point. I’m sure you understand that. Thanks Uwe.
Thanks Daniel, hard to find the creativity sometimes but this time it happend to work.
We are both "scrolled"

Thank you Heinrich, I think it's too much credits in comparison of the RC builders! I'm still "far" away from a next project. Too much work still on my Xebec because I keep finding new things to add or change....It's almost a never ending story....Those carvings are beautiful, Peter. Your Xebec is starting to look a smaller version of the RC! In fact, that could be your next model! If you know how much I admire that ship, and the builders who do her justice, it is no small compliment.
Very nice work again Pter. Hope to see it live again in Amsterdam in September.

And maintaining a smooth and consistent curve requires some artistic dexterity, like painting or drawing a circle. Some people struggle with this. So although the design of a scroll may be simple, the cutting requires more care and a steady hand, than say a flower.
Good morning Peter. I will have a look in the rubbish if I can find it , although I’m not sure you want to see itThanks Uwe.

That’s a beautiful Imperial Eagle, Peter. I am impressed!Hello everybody,
This weekend I made some rigging preperations. Drilled a couple of holes and made some ropeloops.
After this I started carving the figurehead. I thought, @Dean62 has his lion, I need an Eagle. A Spanish Imperial Eagle, due to the fact this is a Spanish Xebec.
This type of eagle is an endangered spiecies and lives only in a remote region in the South of Spain. The eagle looks similair to the more known golden eagle and is almost the same size.
