Corsair H.M.S. Enterprize Build Log

Still working on the inner hull planking as well as looking at the additional transom pieces.
I am pretty sure that I have figured out a way to install the additional pieces, but they will have to wait a little bit to get install because I can't get to it while the ship is in the construction jig. I am cutting them in half (already done) and will be able to insert them from the side. :)
Work continues, although not very fast. But, faster than it was in the past few months. :)

Great progress! Yeah, that's a common problem... 24 hours a day is just a travesty. At least 100 would be nice.

First, I want to thank all of you for continuing to follow my build even though it is going slow. I really appreciate you all being here and providing support and suggestions when needed !
I've gone as far as I can with the ceiling and thick stuff on the starboard side of the hull. I've done the lower ones on the port side as I was doing the starboard, but now I will turn the ship around so I can mirror what I have done onto the upper port side. I'm also not able to do the very stern pieces of these until I install the counter timbers which I have started taking a serious look at along with preparing some of the pieces for it. :)

Bi more further information on my struggles building the kit
As you know Gun Ports are part of the frame with top and bottom sills
The Planking needs to be cut about a mm short of the port all round so the Lids can fit in to form a seal as per real ship
This is impossible if you fit the planking and then cut the ports
There are no Lids provided
Step 118 does "Show" this
I must admit i am struggling

Very sorry to hear you're having problems.. Maybe you can make them up from strips of planking material.

no problem with port hole lids but just saying it outer planking should finish a mm or so short of the port hole inner lining so he port lid would fit into the "Hole"

Still making slow gains on the counter timbers and other stern work. Just for @dockattner , here is a picture to show that it is really happening. ROTF

make sure all the frames are lined up i had a problem with that towards the stern that is sticking out like yours
also that the thick stuff is exactly right as it supports the deck frame and might not allow tthe gun to be correct on the deck

i also found that the hanging and all knees need more of a cut out around the thick stuff check that with one of the lower deck knees ypu migh see what i mean
