Pete…..good response indeed. One would think that if you’re building in a particular scale and all related furniture is built in that scale…. it should be in scale together, independent of each other. That Is scaling problem. It is always a problem. Like you said, it is best to work in sequence. I have never done it that way before, but time forced me to. No problem , I can remake everything anyway. The Staghound didn’t have a lot of furniture to begin with.
I began the starboard side waterway.

I suspect that if we had taken that extra step than the resultant  Staghound wouldn't be a little too narrow.

Personally, I think it was decided to draw a line from the narrowest point....24.5ft, to the widest, 40ft. without considering the flow that is formed, jointing the two.

Personally, upon further investigation, it looks like the original deck furniture measurements had gotten reduced from the originals Rich posted earliest.
When I built the furniture, slight exaggerations probably occurred...since I had no deck to scale them too. No problem. No ones to blame.
Now, I can use all the dimensions available to make everything fit nicely. I was just anxious...waiting.

But now, I need to switch gears and begin making lots of copper plate strips on my embossing machine.

Oh...I don't know about that. That very much depends on how detailed you plan on getting with her rigging...and if you are planning on adding sails.

At this point my bench time is being progressively scaled back to caregiving time for my wife whose memory is being stolen from her. So, I plan to button my ship up with a partial rig, perhaps relegated to the fore and aft aspects and leave her as primarily a hull model. The temptation to do the full rig is strong, but reality is inexorable.

Plugging along with bench time tucked in between doctor visits (pokes, prods, jabs, labs and radiology, between a couple "seniors" they add up ) and other life contingencies, I managed to finish the water casks and add a few missing door handles. The water casks are A.J. Fisher castings. The door handles are tiny snippets of brass wire. I went with handles rather than knobs. a) easier to make and b) easier to grab and turn a wet handle than a knob.
The white metal castings I cleaned with lacquer thinner, painted with a light brown acrylic, used a colored pencil for the bands and dry brushed with a darker brown. I used quick grab tacky glue for the handles and the casks. Leaves a little adjustment time.

A word to the followers of this post. Check out Frederick from the Lumberyard build log by @MavRick. Great scratch build log! Very instructive and enlightening. A beautiful build!

Started fitting out blocks on the tops. Using ca with polyester line. Ca not good on natural fiber, high acid will eat up the natural fiber over time. Pretty fiddley process. (Fiddley blocks? )

Finished stropping and mounting blocks on the tops. The Mamoli plans call for using double and triple sheeve blocks for the buntlines, rather than several singles. So, I went with that. I'm using Model Shipways beautiful blocks and some Drydock triples that I had in my stash. They are all pearwood have good uniform quality and color. All the stropping and tying takes time and patience. (What part of model ship building doesn't? )
