Usually this protection is called a shkun. It was a second layer of skin, thick-flush with the barkhout.I mean, it wasn't made from a single piece of wood.You also need to dial from separate boards.

I found a mansonia strike 1 x 10 mm, and shall try to cut other protection parts...

I never follow blindly anybody, it's not in my temperament to react like that
I 've rectified the frames (vertical and equidistant positions) redraw all fore part of ship, and adoptef a fully horizontal keel
I noticed also that the front volute was too high, and some other details...
It seems that the base of monograh is the SR, which is a three decked 1st range vessel, and not a two decked 2nd range vessel
The real plans of the S. PHilippe are unknown, it's a reconstitution, nothing else...

Did the author of the monograph rely on something?That's why I say that I have never seen such a performance of this element of the ship's design.Did you see that?If not, why not do it as on the other models?If - you've already changed a lot of things.Moreover, the original sources of the drawings have not been preserved.
The author says that he followed a "scientific process", and his version is therefore "difficultly contestable"
The hull protection must describe the same curved line that the anchor drop, it's not very difficult to completly imagine a functional version...
