French war-ship Saint-Philippe 1693 - scale 1/72 - from Lemineur monograph [COMPLETED BUILD]

My Idea was to enlarge the outer frame of the windows - as these we're wooden panels that could be removed for making place for gunnery in battle.

For proportional design:
And keep the hight and breadth in the middle of the single screen of window balanced to the real windows in the back. I would do it with a pair of campasses - copying the starboard side for the starboard quater gallery ins the port one for the portside.
What do you say, Christian?

So the proportiones are still the same - hopefully. And hopefully this does some help to you.

...or to update it to 16, too. I do think the 16 windows do give the impression of a bigger window - and the illusion of giving more light into the room and a smaller fragmented more baroque looking part. What do you think does look better in your opinion?

Real size after scale 1/72 → 1/1

With a 16 parts windows : each squarred part = 21 x 21 cm (4 x 21 = 84 cm)
With a 9 parts windows : each squarred part = 28 x 28 cm (3 x 28 = 84 cm)

S'éloigner de ce qui n'est pas logique est un bon moyen d'approcher la vérité...
