Hello Lawrence ,those balcony railings are very nice!!

Hello Zoltan

I do thank you very much for your visit to my build log. And also for your very kind words and overly nice comments. We are rather pleased with the way that the Balcony and hand railings came out. We are just completing the lower Balcony supports tonight, the Varnish will come tomorrow, ENJOY.

Regards Lawrence

Hello Ship Mates

I do thank you all very much for all of your visits to my build log on the little ship the Golden Hind. Also for your very kind words and overly nice comments.

Back in the Old Ship Yard the little guys and I have glued in the Balcony across the Stern Gallery, we have also built the end Hand Rails on the forward end. We have built and attached the six support brackets that support the Balcony Deck from below. We have replaced the two Stern Gallery windows as the old ones seemed to be just a bit too large, and we have also reworked the door casing. On the Focal Deck, we have decided that the Railing Cribbing did not do what it was supposed to do in looks and we have Planked up the upper Bulwarks giving the Golden Hind a much more traditional look,

We have also taken a few more pictures of the LED LIGHTING, as it was much darker here this AM, ENJOY.

Back in the Old Ship Yard the little fellows and I have spent the last three days building and installing the14 Gun Ports Doors. Not very much to the Doors themselves but all of those tiny working hinges sure did slow us down. Now we must build the lift lines to hold open these doors when the Cannons are in use, ENJOY

I do thank you very much for your visit to my build log. For your very kind words and overly nice comments. Yes, she is slowly coming together, bit by bit, ENJOY

Hello Ship Mates

Once again I do thank you all for all of your many visits to my build log on the little ship the Golden Hind. Also for your many very kind words and overly nice comments.

Back in the Lod Ship Yard the little guys and I have been rather busy building and installing the Gun Ports Lids and installing the 14 Cannons in the lower decks. With the Gun Ports Lids installed they sure do make for a prime target to get bumped off. For this reason, we have decided that it is about time that the Golden Hind should have her own Cradle and not the building cradle that we have been using up to now along with our little Proxxon Vice, ENJOY.

Back in the Old Ship Yard the little fellows and I have cut out and built a ships cradle out of Cherry Wood and given it three coats of varnish with a light sanding in between. This AM we installed it on the Golden Hind, giving her a very firm place to sit and a bit of protection from breakage, ENJOY.

Back in the Old Ship Yard the little guys and I have had a very busy day yesterday as we did build the two sets of stairs that go from the Main Deck to the Wheel Deck. We also built and installed the Railing and Hand Railing across the forward end of this deck. We also built and installed the Banasters to these stairs. It sure is a joy to be adding the detail to our little ship and dressing her up just a bit, ENJOY

Ahoy Lawrence.
I cann't say enough about how good your little fellows are, master craftsmen. This last post really gives a good view of the ladders leading up to the helm. These are not your every day ladders but curved staircases. Well done my friend bravo. :handgestures-thumbup: :greetings-clapyellow: :music-rockout:

Hello Mike

I do thank you very much for your visit to my build log, for your very kind words and overly nice comments. This the part that I do enjoy the most and that is adding some detail to my ship builds. I did send Mike41 a PM on joining in on the Blandford Cross Build and he did reply with a very friendly welcome. He said that He would pass that information along to Donnie. But that was just before all of this trouble started with the SOS Form. Seeing that Donnie had his hands full with the SOS Form I decided to wait until things leveled out before I would remind him, so do not count me out as yet, ENJOY.

Hello Ship Mates

Again I do thank you all very much for all of your visits to my build log. For your very kind words and overly nice comments.

Back in the Old Ship Yard the little fellows and I continue on with our Stare Casing and Hand Rail building. Yesterday we completed the center Stern Gallery Deck Stairs and the Hand Railings to go along with them. These little things sure do add a huge amount of looks to our Golden Hind, ENJOY.

Good Mourning Ship Mates

Once again I thank you all for all of your visits to my build log. Also for your many kind words and overly nice comments.

Back in theOld Ship Yard the little guys and I have built and installed the Stair to the upper Ploop Deck and added the Hand Railings like the two decks below. We have also placed a railing and hand railing across the forward end of this deck. Somehow this does not seem to fit in as it seems to be overpowering with the hand railings across the end of this deck. I am asking my Ship Mates for suggestions on just how this look can be overcome. In the meantime, we will turn our attention on the ships Rudder while trying to figure out how to overcome this look, ENJOY.

It maybe a bit overpowering but the detail work in it looks great.

It does give a focal point on a very nice build. I would tend to leave it as is as the focal point.

I remember very well that rickety old flag cupboard you built on the bounty. That was a focal point and very well done.

You are the Captain, I would ask the Admiral and see what she suggests.

Cheers

Hello Geoff

I thank you for your visit to my build log especially when you are so busy with the SOS Form move. For your very kind words and overly nice comments. Yes, I did consult my Admiral but she said it is your ship so you do what you like, that is a lot of room to move around in. However, I do have a plan that just may do the trick. I have been thinking of adding 4 Falconet Cannons to the Golden Hind, 2 on the Focal Deck and another two to the After Ploop Deck. I am, think that by placing one of these Falconet Cannons just a bit Aft of the Ploop Deck Hand Rail that it should fill in this open space and let it blend in better with the flow of the Golden Hind, ENJOY.

Regards Lawrence

Ahoy Cpt. Lawrence,
You are the ships Master as Geoff and the admiral say. I would think what ever you do to Golden Hinde and for her will only enhance her beauty. I think Sir Francis Drake and Her Majesty would be proud of you. :handgestures-thumbup:

Hello Mike

I do thank you very much for your visit to my build log. For your very kind words and overly nice comments. I do believe that I have this little problem solved, but as I am working on the ship's rudder it will be a few days before I can dry fit the Falconets cannons. I kind of figure that they are just big enough to solve the overpowering handrails, ENJOY.

Regards Lawrence

Hello Ship Mates

I do thank you all very much for all of your visits to my build log on the little ship the Golden Hind. Also for all of your very kind words and overly nice comments.

Back in the Old Ship Yard the little fellows and I have constructed the ships Rudder out of 7 Cheery Wood Planks as we thought it would be much better fitting in with the rest of the ship rather than one solid plank. We also built the three sets of Gudgeons for the ships Rudder and installed them. To top of the Rudder, we installed a Fierce Lions Head to ward off the evil spirits that followed from behind, rather cute but upon seeing this I figured that our Golden Hind just had to have one. To correct the overpowering Upper Ploop Deck Hand Railings we added a couple of Falconet Cannons, we believe that they are just enough to overcome this little problem. Again we ask our Ship Mates for there opinion on this problem, ENJOY

Hello Bill

I thank you very much for your visit to my build log on the little ship the Golden Hind, being so small she certainly is a challenge for an old guy like me. I also thank you for your very kind words and overly nice comments. Yes, she is slowly coming together, but with a lot of redos, just one of the joys of model shipbuilding, ENJOY.
