H.M.S Enterprise 1:96 (Modelship Dockyard)

.. do the instructions give the builder the correct dimensions so they can decide if they want to sand them to the correct size ..
Hi Allan. That was also my thought when building my POF Bluenose from the YuanQing kit. But then I realized that I would also have to adjust many other parts from the kit that fit the frames. Including deck beams. Then many recesses would have to be made smaller to fit neatly. With the result that I would have to make a lot of parts new myself. It goes from 'bad to worse'. It would have been a scratch build of half of the structure. Then I decided to focus my attention on other details. That are the pros and cons of building a kit and still have a lot of fun building a 'not overall correct' kit.
Regards, Peter

My experience with the hoy would rather suggest the manufaturer to laser cut parts, expecially the long ones (e.i. beams) a bit longer or larger than officially required. Any redundancy could be easily trimmed. Any gap, on the other and, is always an annoying sat back.
