and congratulation to reach this step - looking very good - I like the laying knees midships
and realized a special knee made out of black timber? Is there a special reason to show or not to show and choosing black?

It is a reinforcement arm for the beam arm, and is not made of wood but of iron (in my case, burnished brass). It served to better support the curved beam arm. It was topped by a board to support the deck tin.

Did you blacken the hinges instaled or before instalation?
For the first case, how do you protect the wood?
