HMAV Bounty 1:48 (based on) Artesania Latina Kit

Good morning again

Thank you all for your previous comments, likes, and views! It's great to see that my work is appreciated here too!

Part 3: Cannons and channels
August-December 2022

The next step was to install the fore, main, and mizzen channels. From this point on, I increasingly deviated from the Artesania kit. The kit provides unrealistic chains and other brass parts for fixing the deadeyes. So I decided to make these parts myself. The result is shown below in a few photos.

And as usual, here are a few more photos to give a more complete picture of the later stages of construction:

The same story more or less applied to the cannons. Many adjustments had to be made to the parts from the kit. For example, I think the AL carriers are too long. I shortened them and added more detail. I did use the barrels from the kit after blackening them.

The rope that you can see in the photos from this point onwards is also not the rope from the kit. I order all my rope for this build from
www.modellbau-takelgarn.com.

Goed gedaan!
thanks again Paul!

patina dat zeer geschikt lijkt voor de Bounty.
I'm following my own color scheme for this Bounty. Generally, I don't like bright colors on a ship model. That's why I didn't choose the usual blue and yellow.

But that's really a matter of personal preference.

*really anoying that atomic translation feater on my Applephone.. sorry for the Dutch words in your reply!

No worries. I speak enough German to understand Dutch. When my wife and I were in Amsterdam a few years ago (Maarten met us and took us over to the Batavia Yard) I got along fairly well. But I did need to learn the word "onmogelijk" (or was it "mogelik"?). Apparently Dutch stubbornness often meant what we wanted to do was not possible ROTF. Oh, I also learned you don't go into a coffee shop to order coffee .

How expensive was that day? And did Maarten bring "dropjes" for the trip?

Good morning Eric. I love it...it looks almost real. Cheers Grant

Good morning,

Since it's Friday again, it's time for the next update. We are now about halfway through the project.

Today, I will show you how I made the boat on the deck.
Here too, I chose not to use the boats from the kit. However, I didn't want to scratch build the boat entirely either. That's why I ordered a small kit of a 26 ft Launch from https://vanguardmodels.co.uk. It turned out to be a great kit for making the launch exactly the way I wanted it. Although the scale of the kit is 1:72, the boat is only slightly smaller than the large boat from the Artesania kit and still larger than the small boat. That's why I decided to build my version of the Bounty with only one boat on deck. You could compare it to the situation after the mutiny. As far as I'm concerned, this brings me close enough to the historical situation.

Anyway, I will show the building process again using an extensive number of photos.
