Hms Alert by Maarten [COMPLETED BUILD]

Maarten
On the very first post after checking box contents you mention "The additional items below are the interior which are not part of the default kit. The small strips are forming the bulk head beams, the other items the planks and doors." Can you help with how you came with these since not with basic kit?

Hi Will,

These interior items were added by Trident for the Ships of Scale version of the kit. You can see if you have the Ships of Scale version by checking the kits pewter cast name plate. On the back of this is the ships of scale logo.

Szép munka!
Tetszik hogy részletesen bemutatod a munkafolyamatokat, jó ötleteket lehet látni.
A Clouval kezelt felület nagyon jól néz ki! Rendeltem mert szeretném kipróbálni.
Én a Granadot építem 1:36 ban, körtefából. Küldök róla pár képet.

Nice job!
I like that you present the work processes in detail, you can see good ideas.
The surface treated with Clou looks great! I ordered it because I want to try it.
I am building the Granado in 1:36, from pear wood. I'll send some pictures of it.
Best regards, Attila Gémes

Your Granado looks great, very neat work. Especially the way you build up your hull I like. First the floors and than building up the hull from there.
Can you start a build log on your build? There will be interest in your build for sure.

Hallo Maarten!

Hello Maarten!

My compliments on the beautiful "Alert". You are a teacher and mentor! You are a master!

But I have a practical and concrete question. It is about bitumen, shellac and paint.
Where can I buy them in the Netherlands?

I have already tried to search for them via Google. But the search results were not what I was looking for. :(

Thanks for your answer and I look forward to your next blog.

And furthermore, happy holidays everyone!

Hi Bobby,

Many thx and glad you liked it, it is a fun model to build.

My current build is a reconstruction of a Dutch fluyt.

The schellak I buy at Baptist a woodworking shop in Arnhem. This is a real heaven for the woodworker.

I use Judea Bitumen and order it online.

Sorry sir Jbradford.
I wrote in the no English. I asked to Maartens where in the Netherlands to buy the varnishes indicated by Maarten. It's hard for me to find them here just like that.
