HMS Endurance Build . . .

Finished the ship for the bottle. Now trying to decide if I should put it in the bottle before giving it to my 8 year old grandson or let him help me do it? Concerned I may run into problems at his home without all my tools and then not be able to leave it with him.

Have gotten back to my build. All masts, yards, and booms shaped and ready for stain and painting before assembly.

Felt good the past couple of days to get back to the Endurance.

A very cool Christmas present Rebus. It came out really well so I’m sure he will be chuffed.

That looks really beautiful. What a tiny ship. If I may say so, I would hand over the ship once it's finished. That way, you'll definitely avoid a lot of trouble, and I think your grandson will love admiring the ship in the bottle with you...

FWIW, I recommend bottling it first. It’s one of those jobs for which an extra pair of hands is definitely not helpful.

Got the masts stained and painted this week plus added the blocks and rings.



This next week plan on getting the yards and booms rigged and mounted.
