We are also able to ship worldwide but please note that due to new EU legislation we are temporarily unable to ship the EU or Northern Ireland.

They make me depressed as the CaF kit I am building is nothing like the drawing
A little side tracking, sorry Dirk. I think most kits are based on contemporary information when available, at least to start. Why some go off track is probably because the kit makers design them to save their costs and thus try to keep reasonable prices for the consumer. Then again maybe they don't understand that a kit can replicate a real ship so continue like past generations. We can still do kit bashing if we want to. :) Thankfully there are two or three kit makers that come to mind that offer high quality products with enough choices to last a lifetime.

Absolutely no problem with side tracking @AllanKP69

I think the problem with kit design is also that some people just want to design a kit (just as some people just want to build it… it always goes wrong for me… damn…) and aren’t really that interested in the historical construction background, or the ‘more accurate’ plans aren’t available, so a lot slips through the net. Perhaps some people just don’t have the inclination to delve deeper either; there’s a lovely new kit of a Dutch gunboat, but unfortunately the designer was absolutely unwilling to use the all-important typical Dutch planking, which makes it hard for me to find it interesting. But for his ‘market’, it didn’t seem important to him. You have to accept that, though it’s a shame… haha.

I almost finished the well with locker.

Unfortunately, the part has warped a bit; it’s still annoying me, even though I doubt anyone will ever notice it once the model’s finished. I’m going to open up the rear section, and possibly the side door as well. I’ll be fitting hinges later, and getting it to fit the lower deck won’t be entirely straightforward either, but I don’t think any gaps will be visible once it’s finished (it’s bad enough that I know about them… haha)

Yes, still 2 beams fitted ... :-P

Schaut klasse aus

Danke :-)

I like scratch building and kit bashing in 1:160 …:) it looks very promising, Dirk.
Regards, Peter

1:160 is fun .... haha, thanks Peter.

Good morning Dirk. Stunning modelling on this tiny cross section.
I love all the pics you and Allan @AllanKP69 shared. They make me depressed as the CaF kit I am building is nothing like the drawings ROTF . Cheers Grant

Thanks Grant, much appreciated. I like the conversation with Allan too, learned a lot the last days :-)
