Getting creative with the planking.
Partly due to wanting to keep the open frame appearance, and partly due to incomprehensible plans and the absence/inadequacy of, the very limited instructions from here on...............................

I’ll affirm your limited planking approach. Covering all that meticulous joinery on the deck would be a shame.

Maybe like the old models, planking down to a few strakes below the wales as well as the garboard and one or two strakes above it Also means you do not have worry about coppering which seems to always be out of scale.

Yes, I have a similar plan. I'd like to expose slightly more of the frames and perhaps cover up a few errors towards the stern deadwood area, which was poorly designed in the kit.

When building the Euryalus model which was fully framed, one side was planked, the other side was not. Turned out fine and the client was very happy with the idea.

Yes that is a good look. I'm probably going to stay with symmetry for this build as there is a lot of errors on both sides that need to be 'masked'.
