HMS ENTERPRISE by Keith 1:48 scale. New Kit from M.D.

Thank you Keef for the update. Due to my lower back situation, I can only sit for about an hour at a time. I am scheduled for an MRI this week, and maybe they can help with the problem. (Maybe an injection of some type might help).
Yes, of course, I would love to join you and others on this build. It is my understanding the Model Ship will be soon finishing the design of the Rigging for the 1/48 kit. Also, they released the frieze decals too ready to buy.

Coming along very well....nice progress.
I may have missed it but, curious, what did you end up with as far as finish used so far on lower structures?

Thank you for your comments. I use a product called Clou, which is a sanding sealer made in Germany. A bit like the dope used in model aeroplanes. I have used this product several times on the 3 last PoF models I have made and reported on and due to comments raised in the past, I don't believe it is available in the USA.

Yep, seen reviews on it, now remember your usage.

Carrying on with the fitting of the cabin bulkheads of the after platform deck. This I am doing outside of the hull, with the occasional dry fit and will fit in position when complete. I think the position of the complete assembly is important because of clashing with the hanging knees of the lower deck which is immediately above. The only way I can see of achieving the correct fore and aft position is to compare it with the drawing of the instruction manual as it doesn't seem to appear on the 1:1 drawing supplied. I may be wrong, shall recheck. Anyway, onwards and upwards

Hey Keith ! that is looking wonderful !
You can see the bulkheads in the side view in the middle of the 3 views. You have to look closely, but they are there. :)

Looking fantastic, Keep! Thumbsup

Keef,
FWIW I used the PDF instructions, carefully counted frames/ gunports for structure locations, now for two decks.
Using that approach I have not had a single obstruction from knees, pumps, well, etc.
A word of caution when you get to it, Although I have not secured anything other than 1-2 beams on the forecastle, i have made sets of beams, knees, hanging knees, primarily because a few require extreme angles of the hanging knees to avoid interfering with forward gun ports, requires extreme sanding/fitting of knees to match up with beams, almost impossible to construct them the same as lower ones for good location and spacing….. be prepared.

Thanks for the tips. I use the PDF instructions as well to get the position of the bulkheads. It seems to work perfectly

Good idea to build the compartments in modules, Keith. They fit very nicely.
