HMS ENTERPRISE by Keith 1:48 scale. New Kit from M.D.

All lower deck and hold assemblies are now in place. I should have shown more detail of the make up of the well shed. Sorry. All lower detailing is also treated with Clou giving the pear wood a nice rich colour. All this will be mostly hidden under the lower deck timbers and cabins, which is the next part of the build. This is an extremely detailed kit, although sadly, much of it will never be seen, but I will know it's there :)

Outstanding !

Making a start on the lower deck beams. The instructions suggest these few beams be positioned first. I assume it is to ensure that they fit precisely in place over the well shed and the bitts at the bow, which they do. The accuracy of the design is amazing for these beams to fit as they do. The kit supplies drawings for slots to be cut at the front and back of every beam at the position of the carlings to allow for a 1 mm inset, but I have decided on butt joints for the carlings as I can see me making a pigs ear of the slot cutting.

Incredibly fast work, while maintaining superb accuracy and detail!

Really enjoy following your build log of this kit!

Thanks for sharing so many great pictures!
Thank you very much Brad. Good of you to say. Really pleased you enjoy my build log. It means a lot Thumbs-Up

A few of the lower deck beams in place together with the hanging knees and ledges ready for the carlings, which is my next job. So far everything fits perfectly. Just a matter of continuing and filling in the gaps. At the risk of getting repetitive, I'll cut down the number of posts as they are all a bit samey

Nicely fitted deck beams, Keith. It give a nice ‘dept view’ in the hull.
Regards, Peter

Thank you for your likes and comments. They are very much appreciated Thumbs-UpLooking back through these photos, I have noticed a glaring error gone unnoticed until now. If you look, one of the fore bitts is in the wrong position. I have managed to unglue it without damage, and reposition it correctly

Outstanding. Speechless. Ok, so I got a dumb question. Is all this interior work part of the supplied kit or is this modifications on your own?
