those turrets are to rounded & what is with that lip that goes around the bottom of the turret?

the only Hood i have is Airfix's 1/600 scale model of that ship & if correct as it is upstairs in my bedroom as i am currently in my downstairs office, that model's turrets do not look like yours but more like the real ship's.

is that turret vacuum formed as that would explain the lip on the bottom of the turret?
this is what i am working on but currently on pause as i cleanup well over 140 Booklet of General Plans of US Navy ships saved on my computer. there will be 17 ships with 16 during the war & 1 after the war.

Well, just found this one and will be following progress.

the turret is from a mould that I did not get quite right once it has been adjusted it will look better, as I said a work in progress.

what did you make the mould out of?

mould is made from car body bog

what plans/drawings are you using for the turrets & model?

got the plan from Vintage Model Pans in Canada drawn by a guy named C ,Bingham only problem
is I don,t thin he had a ruler since there are so many measurements that do not add up, does make things more dffiicult

Very cool. I'm wondering how you setup the elevation?

bit rough and ready at the moment but when it is all together and painted none of it is seen.

back to work now my eyes are sorted . tweaked the gun turret ,shape is better ,also now getting full 180degree turn.
