Finished the hull and although not perfect and after lots of filling and sanding it looks okay.
Sprayed a coat of primer on it and now I can finish cutting out the gun ports.View attachment 539768

Has the ship's hull been covered? The hull of the bow section needs to be reduced.Finished the hull and although not perfect and after lots of filling and sanding it looks okay.

Thanks Allen, I can do that and think I need to taper the stern post a bit more for the rudder.I am not sure what he means by reduced bow, but the knee of the head should be tapered to about 5" or 6" at the forward end. An example of a British 28 gun ship shows it better than words.

Thanks, I can see where the older versions bulkheads would make it hard to sand and placing the guns wouldn't much fun either.Love what you are doing. I have the earlier version of this kit. the transom drove me nuts and have to start again ,plus the lifeboat has its challenges so I have to walk away from this kits for a while. Will enjoy seeing the build..The new version looks like a completely improved kit ........Thank you for posting
