That's a very useful set of pictures!
Hello Arthur, Very nice work you have did on your HMY Fubbs, you have given me some very helpful hints.A little more work before fitting the poop deck beams and waterways.
In this case, it was fitting the transom windows,
The window frames are laser cut and were supplied still in the billet with blue tape apparently holding them in place. However, peeling the tape off didn’t result in them falling out.
Looking at the back of them showed that the laser had cut almost exactly to the correct depth, but they weren’t coming out. I simply sawed from the edges of the billet up to each frame and the scrap pieces came away cleanly.
The holes for the windows in the transom were cnc rather than laser cut, so the corners of them had to be squared off. After very light sanding of the char from the window frames, the fit was impressive. At this point I marked the frame number on the top edge of each frame.

So far, so good. The next step was obvious, remove the four sections of wood from each window frame.
How to do that was anything but obvious!
I tried using a scalpel from the front or the back without success. (I also tried with a single edged razor blade.) The main problem was that it was very difficult to see the position of the long side at the back.
The following series of pictures show the method I used. I’m sure there’s a better way of doing it, but this worked.
Note: Scalpel recommended.

1. Drill a series of holes down the centre of the pane.
2. Cut the wood away between the holes.
3. Cut away the ends of the wood of one of the blocks.
4. Repeatedly score along the long side of the block until the block comes free.
5. Repeat for the other half.
6. Glue the window ‘glass’ to the back of the frame.
Repeat 15 times!
At this point, I dry fitted all the frames in the transom to see how they looked.
I used this special tool (patent not applied for) to position them halfway through the transom.
The notches are 1.6 mm deep.
